Garden of The Gods by Russell Park."South Gateway Rock" formation framed by twisted Juniper Trees at the Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Garden of the Gods is a public park and was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1971.The twisted Juniper Trees in this image were several hundred years old, at the time the picture was taken.Capturing this image took a strenuous 1500 foot hike up a steep snow covered slope.Shortly after this picture was taken, vandals cut down the Juniper trees, making it impossible for others to enjoy this beautiful sight.
