Monumental Storm 32x48 from Steve Love.Originally taken back in August of 2010, published in 2015.A high dynamic range photograph of Monument Valley with several lightning bolts striking in the distance. This was composed from 5 separate photographs; one for the landscape and 4 for the lightning bolts. The photos were taken at different exposure levels and then merged together in 32 bit HDR Color.Unlike straight single shot photographs HDR images are more vibrant due to the overlaying of the separate photos.HDR processing was not available back in 2010, which is why it was not published before now.Without HDR processing the colors and contrasts of this image would not have been possible.Monument Valley is located on the Utah Arizona border on the Navajo Reservation. The entrance to the Valley is on the Utah side but most of the monuments and rock formations are on the Arizona side.
