Springs The seat features five 8 1/2-gauge seat springs with rear helical springs and two 12-gauge cross brace wires. An insulator/stabilizer spring support system, a deck pad and a nonwoven spring cover are integrated into the seat cushion for exceptional support. The back uses one 12-gauge and two 10-gauge springs with a spring cover. The rocker spring uses La-Z-Boy's heavy-duty 7 1/2-gauge dual springs with restrictive pin and must pass the minimum half million cycle test. Frame The frame consists of kiln-dried hardwood. furniture grade laminates and engineered framing material. Frame joints are mortis and tenon. Stress points are reinforced with corder blocks. Cushion The deep seat-depth cushion contains a 2 3/4 contour cut polyurethane foam core and a 1 1/2 layer of polyurethane foam laminated with a layer of bonded polyester batting. The upper, middle and lower back pillows each contain an inner bag filled with blown fiber. The arms consist of a 4 1/2 contour cut polyurethane foam core. Each arm is sewn as one complete piece. The legrest contains a 3/4 polyurethane foam core with a 1/2 polyurethane foam wrap and a 1 1/2 layer of polyurethane foam. The chair comes with an extension legrest and elongated comfort selector. Mechanism Mechanical parts are tested to surpass 100,000 cycles, which equals 50 years of normal use.
